Severe thunderstorms Saturday night prompted Steuben County officials to declare a state of emergency for the village of Canisteo. Damaging winds from the storm brought down trees and power lines, causing power outages to approximately 3,000 residents in Steuben County.

There were some traffic delays on Route 390 after a motorcycle crash Sunday evening. Route 390 northbound near 590 was shutdown for a while. Police said a motorcycle rider hit an SUV after going around a curve.

Thousands of people are still without power in the Midwest because of severe weather. The National Weather Service confirms at least four tornadoes touched down in southern Michigan. One of the twisters cut a path a quarter mile wide snapping trees and uprooting hundreds of trees.
